29>>In order to make an active contribution to the further development of the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy, Royal Haskoning also initiates collaborative associations including the Rotterdam Sustainability Initiative* (RSI) and participates in various platforms such as the Chamber of Commerce in the district of Venlo, the CODIN Network in northern Netherlands and the Cradle to Cradle® platform of Agentschap NL. Braungart led Royal Haskoning's internal training in our Royal Cradle initiative. Under his guidance we have focused upon the actual application of the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy in projects. Over 40 Royal Haskoning advisors have participated in the inspiring discussion sessions with Braungart and have made the Cradle to Cradle® approach their own. With this knowledge we can advise our clients even better.* Rotterdam Sustainability Initiative (RSI) Foundation Royal Haskoning is an initiator of/participant in the Rotterdam Sustainability Initiative (RSI) Foundation. RSI is an initiative of a number of market parties involved in the built environment with a shared vision regarding the necessity and application of the Cradle to Cradle© concept. In addition to Royal Haskoning, members include Royal BAM Group, OVG, the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, the Dutch Government Buildings Agency, Desso, TenneT and the municipality of Rotterdam. The chair 'Cradle to cradle in relation to sustainable system innovations and transitions in theory and practice' was set up by this platform. Prof. Michael Braungart was the first professor appointed to this chair. Braungart is the co-founder of the Cradle to Cradle philosophy.
