French high season canbe from about the middle of July to about20 August. In other countries it's usuallyfrom early July to mid-August. Sites andresorts are then usually fully booked and attheir busiest, both in numbers of people andthe level of activity and festivity. Expect thepossibility of lively celebrations - both onsite and locally - on national or localholidays at all times of the year.Low season tariffsMany sites have further low season tariffsthat we can't fit into our price panels. Pleasecheck on-line or ask for a quote - you willalways be charged the right tariff. Site facilities for disabled peopleWe have much more information on this -ranging from sanitation details to access tothe bar - than is displayed in the brochure,so please do ask us if you need more adviceon a particular site's facilities. Ask to speak tosomeone who has visited the site to ensureit meets your requirements.Arrival and departure timesYour pitch is reserved from 1500hrs on yourday of arrival to 1200hrs on your day ofdeparture. If you arrive early your pitch maynot be available. Many site receptions areclosed from 1200-1400hrs and longer still inlow season. In some countries, such asSpain, Italy and Germany, lunch breaks canbe longer - reception may not reopen until1500hrs or 1600hrs.If you arrive near reception closing time thismay limit the time staff can give towelcoming you and also reduce the choiceof pitches it may be possible to offer you.Planning yourjourneyFerry crossings and their scheduleddeparture and arrival times can be subject tochange due to operational factors, weatherconditions, tides etc. If Carefree are informedof a ferry schedule change that means yourscheduled sailing departs up to 30 minutesafter your original schedule time, we will notadvise you of the change as it will not affectyour travel plans. Do notrely on post codes, especially in France, where they do not refer to small groups ofpremises as they do in the UK, and could bemore than ten miles away from the campsite. These directions have been written for yourconvenience and safety, in consultation withthe local site owners and have been triedand tested by members of Carefree's sitesteam on their annual site visits. Nevertheless, please bear in mind that road layouts androad numbering may change. All major roads, especially in France, areexceptionally busy during the last weekendin July as the peak holiday season begins.Delays should therefore be expected. In thepast, similar weekends have seen a higherthan usual incidence of road accidents.
