Anyone who has had the misfortune of living close to noisy neighbours will testify how annoying it can be. Expect some traffic noise if the property is located close to a road and the sound of aircraft if airports are close by.Early openingOutside the main summer months of July and August holidays are available which offer excellent value for money. However, customers should bear in mind that many of the facilities available may not be open during their visit, such as a selection of restaurants, bars, places of interest etc. The weather can also be erratic during the 'shoulder months'. Therefore for those seeking a traditional beach holiday it will probably be best to choose only high season. Even without inclement weather, beach bars, hire of umbrellas etc. may not be available and the beach itself could be suffering the effects of winter weather.Channel crossings - self drive holidaysWe cannot accept any liability for any delay in your Channel crossing to or from the UK, whether the cancellation or delay is caused by adverse weather conditions, re-scheduling of times by the operators/ authorities and/or mechanical breakdown, strike, industrial action or otherwise.What your City Cruiser Holiday includes:• Return coach travel • Return Cross Channel Ferries where required (not on self drive holidays). 'Eurotunnel' may be used occasionally• Excursions as indicated in individual tour itineraries• Accommodation for the number of nights specified. The monitoring, enforcement and compliance with these local regulations is a matter for the authorities of that country and the foreign supplier of the services concerned. The general standard of safety, hygiene, fire precautions and other areas will generally be lower than in the UK. Insurance requirements vary considerably from country to country, as does the responsibility placed on organisations by local law. Please take all reasonable precautions to protect yourself and your family while on holiday. In particular, you should familiarise yourself with fire escape routes. Don't let non swimmers or children jump into the swimming pool without first checking the depths and means of exit. Remember when you are abroad the sun may be much more powerful than you are used to in the UK. Take care not to overexpose yourself or your children (and particularly babies), especially in the early days. Not only can the sun cause painful burns to exposed skin, it can also cause your body to overheat. Take care and cover up, use protective creams and drink plenty of liquids (non alcoholic) to replace your body's lost fluids.Special RequestsShould you have any special request such as adjoining rooms, a room on a low or high floor, or vegetarian meals, advise us at the time of making your booking by completing the Special Request panel on the booking form. Although we cannot guarantee that your requirement will be met, we will certainly pass on your request to the suppliers concerned and make every effort to satisfy your requirements. If any additional cost is applicable it will either be invoiced to you prior to departure or should be paid for locally in resort. Special requests cannot be guaranteed. We cannot accept any reservation which is made conditional upon a special request being satisfied and such requests do not form part of the contract between us. No special requests can be accepted on "late booking/ Budget Breaker" holidays.Across the ChannelUse is made of a variety of Channel ferry operators and a variety of routes. No guarantee can be given about the use of a particular ferry company or ferry routing. We also reserve the right to use "Eurotunnel" services through the Channel Tunnel in either one or both directions. This service may be used as alternative transportation to ferry crossings in case of last minute schedule changes, unexpected delays and weather conditions or Force Majeure.On self drive holidays/accommodation only, please remember you will be bound by the terms and conditions of the ferry, "Eurotunnel" or airline operator. We cannot accept liability for any delay in your ferry/"Eurotunnel" crossing or flight to or from the UK whether the cancellation or delay is caused by adverse weather conditions, rescheduling of times by the transport operator/authorities and/or mechanical breakdown, strike, industrial action or otherwise. In the event of any delay you must make your own arrangements for meals and accommodation if required. Harry Shaw/City Cruiser does not provide these for you. On self drive/ accommodation only holidays it is your responsibility to allow sufficient time for journeys to campsites, ferry ports, airports etc. City Cruiser Holidays will not make refunds for unused accommodation or pre booked travel in any circumstances. It is recommended you take out a holiday insurance policy to provide cover if you fail to arrive at the campsite or ferry ports on time.Brochure AccuracyThe information given in this brochure is meant to help you choose a holiday that best suits your own personal tastes and expectations. Our staff regularly visit all accommodation and our brochure descriptions are based on the information obtained during these visits together with information provided by accommodation owners. Please remember, however, that brochures are produced up to 12 months in advance and there may be occasions when an advertised facility, excursion or entertainment is not available during your own particular holiday ­ especially outside of the high season period. Certain facilities (eg. swimming pools, lifts, water sports facilities etc.) require maintenance and may have to be temporarily withdrawn for service. Pools need cleaning from time to time and of course weather can adversely affect all kinds of activities. Equally sand can be washed away from man-made beaches. Some activities or facilities may simply not be practical because of lack of support. Building works can suddenly appear from nowhere without any apparent notice and the operation of certain facilities may be subject to local licensing laws or religious holidays. Government or local authority restrictions may require certain energy using facilities to be limited (eg. air conditioning, heated swimming pools etc). For certain facilities you may find that an apartment makes a charge (eg. hire of sunbeds, tennis courts, baby sitting etc). In certain resorts you may be charged for use of the beach. A maid service is not available in any apartments featured in this brochure. Sea views, whether from public or guest rooms, may be partly blocked by trees.Holiday apartments understandably experience considerable wear and tear, particularly those open throughout the year and at time minor aggravations may arise a broken door handle or light and problems with the hot water supply for example. It is unlikely that such situations will affect your own holiday but as responsible people we feel it is only right to point out these possibilities, however unlikely. Should they happen, we ask for your patience and understanding. They are beyond our control and our representatives will do their best to help. Many resorts are continuing to develop, sometimes rapidly and intensively. There may therefore be substantial building work in the vicinity of your holiday accommodation or in the resort area generally. It is possible that a cement mixer or a tower crane may go into action or other works be carried out, as a hotelier or apartment owner seeks to maintain or improve standards and facilities. This work may start early in the day as is local practice and can occur at any time of the season. Unfortunately, it is clearly not possible to foresee the extent and nature of any such activity at a particular location or time, and we are therefore unable to issue information updates on these rapidly changing local conditions, so please remember that life has to go on abroad as well as at home.Content of any entertainment programme at accommodation is planned by local management. We have no control over this and therefore are unable to accept claims for compensation. Whilst any entertainment is free accommodation management reserve the right to charge an entrance or participation fee for certain programmes. Where satellite TV is provided please note it is possible that programmes may be different to those in the UK.Excursion ProgrammesNo entrance fees or boat fares are included on trips and we reserve the right to substitute any advertised excursion with a similar alternative if operational reasons should make this necessary. The availability of optional excursions cannot be guaranteed and are operated on the basis of a minimum of 10 passengers booking.Itineraries and Included ExcursionsThe itinerary for your chosen tour is summarised on the appropriate brochure page. To help you in planning your holiday, we also indicate in the brochure the itinerary for included excursions which are provided as part of your holiday.For all holidays we will send you a final itinerary for your holiday in good time before your departure. Variations between the brochure itinerary and the final itinerary will not entitle you to compensation where such variations are a consequence of non-significant changes to your holiday.Please note that, unless otherwise stated, included excursions to cities and other major places of interest do not include guided tours or entrance fees to places of interest. Included excursions involve taking you to a convenient central point with time at leisure to explore at your own pace. In some locations, a guided tour may be offered as an optional activity at a reasonable price. Where holidays are advertised as "no overnight travel" please bear in mind that this is applicable to travel on the Continent only, and in order to offer this facility some tours may have to have an extremely early start from a local departure point.Excursion CoachesLocal excursions and short transfers are usually operated by local coaches. On board facilities will vary therefore on these occasions.Smoking Policy - It is against the law to smoke in enclosed public areas and the smoking policy on coaches will accord with all legal and health and safety requirements.Payment by Credit CardWhere City Cruiser holidays are booked at any branch of Harry Shaw or directly with our reservation handling office, a charge of 2.5% will apply where Mastercard and Visa cards are used. RESIDENCY If you or anyone else named on this policy has not been a resident in the UK for the past 6-months this policy cannot cover you. PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS If you are travelling to destinations detailed in your policy document which do not require you to inform the Insurer of any pre-existing medical conditions, then you need to consider your answers to the following questions: • Will you or anyone else be travelling against the advice of your GP or the carrier, their handling agents or any other public transport provider? • Have you or anyone else been given a terminal prognosis? • Will you or anyone else be on a waiting list, awaiting the results of tests or be aware of any surgery being required? • Are you suffering from stress, anxiety or depression unless it has been investigated and diagnosed as such by a specialist in the relevant field? Please note if you have answered Yes to any of these questions the policy will not cover claims as a result of the condition or conditions causing your Yes answer(s). You do however have the option to still take out this policy on the understanding that it will not cover these condition(s). In addition to the above the policy also contains the following main exclusions: • Any existing medical conditions unless they have been declared to (where appropriate) and accepted by the insurer. • Your participation in any organised sports, winter sports or dangerous activities unless they have been declared to and accepted by the Insurer. • Suicide or the wilful exposure to exceptional personal risk. • Stress, anxiety or depression unless it has been diagnosed as such by a consultant or expert in that field. • Travel against the advice of the carrier, any other public transport provider, the Foreign Office or the World Health Organisation. • Motorcycle travel during the insured trip where the engine size exceeds 125cc. • Any manual work or hazardous occupation undertaken during the insured trip. • The bankruptcy / liquidation of the tour operator, travel agent or transportation company with whom you have booked your trip.
