Westminster pays a financial contribution to the TFT to support its activities, enabling specificforests to become independently certified as well-managed under the Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) scheme. The TFT organisation founded in 1999 promotes the link between business and responsible forestmanagement. TFT works to eliminate tropical hardwood from unknown, controversial and potentiallyillegal sources, and replaces it with wood from TFT forest projects and FSC certified forests, conse-quently protecting natural forests from unsustainable practices and educating forest managers, woodproduct businesses and wood users thus demonstrating their long term economic viability.
